The very best tool to get burrs out manes and tails.

Does it also smooth out badly tangled manes?

Yes! depending on how bad the tangle is it can pull out the hair. I absolutely love it, the wide teeth work the tangles free, after I use the burr out comb, I will spray a detangler or conditioner and use a regular hose comb to smooth. I hope this helps!

Wish I'd found this decades ago!
I live in a Burr infested area and I have 9 horses with full manes and tails. I use a bottle of baby oil EACH on manes and tails, let set from 1-24 hours then use this tool. It works GREAT and saves my fingers from being prickled into numbess.

Burr comb
New comb works great removing burrs but still need added conditioning spray.

Amazing Product
I HATE taking out burrs, but my horse loves getting them, so I use this. It's very expensive, but I still prefer to spend the money than have to take out burrs with my fingers.

You can believe what they say about this brush!
We try and try to rid our property of burr bushes but my horse always find the ones we missed. Mane, forlocks, tails full of burrs! So I saw this brush and figured I had 10.00 off I would give it a try! Worth every penny even paying the full price! Start slow at the bottom like the directions say and the burrs just slide right out. Works great! Horses don't seem to mind too much the pulling and tugging it takes but once you get started that comes to an end and then they just slide out. Perfect! Love it!

Really pulls out tangles
This item really gets into thick manes and quickly removes tangles (and I suppose burrs but we don't have those). Going to be a staple in my tack box.

Not very effective
The Burr Out might work better on larger burrs, but the hound;s tongue burrs in my horse's mane are small enough to slip between the teeth, A $2.98 plastic comb work better.

Best Tool In My Bag!!!
Trust me, when I say you need to buy this burr-out tool!! This is by far the best tool in my grooming bag. I have a horse business, and get many horses in that their tails are nothing but a mass of burrs. Before this tool, it would take days, and still loose half their tail. No more...now, usually within an hour, I can have their tails free of burrs, and with very, very minimal hair loss. Don't have a clue as to what makes this tool work so well, but it does, and I'll never be without one! $20 is nothing, compared to saving their tails, and also days of your time!!
