Depends on the condition of the horse when started. Thinner the horse the longer it takes. I have two horses on it. The 28 year old QH showed improvement in about 4 weeks. It took that long to get him up to 4 scoops twice a day. The 26 year old Tennessee Walker was not that thin so she showed improvement in about Two weeks. Both have been foundered and don’t get grain. The are Feed alfalfa pellets, graze, coastal hay and 2 scoops weight gain twice a day.
JUNE BDirections for Use:
Feed Senior Weight Accelerator by top dressing or mixing into the grain at the rate of 2 to 10 ounces per horse daily, depending on the needs of the horse. The enclosed scoop holds about 1 ounce of Senior Weight Accelerator by weight.
Introduce Senior Weight Accelerator into the diet gradually over a two week period to minimize the chance of loose stools. If loose stools should occur, decrease the amount being fed until the horse adjusts to the supplement.
Provide fresh, clean water at all times.
It would be considered a powder, but it is granular. I just started out by putting just a bit and built it up over time. I really like how it worked and my horse seemed to like the taste. It helps if they get quite a bit of feed to put it in. My horse gets 2 lbs of serior feed at a time.
CINDY HYes. It isn't always seniors that need help, you want to put the weight on over a slow period and this product will certainly do the job..
PATTI FPlease find an alternative to the rice bran (like alfalfa pellets). Rice bran robs them of calcium that their bones NEED! I was feeding it to one of my older horses too until it was brought to my attention and confirmed by 2 vets (including an equine specialist). Ask your local feed store.... ;)

Toby is in his mid to late 20s (rescue, so unsure age) and as he's gotten older he's become an extremely hard keeper. Temp drops 5 degrees, he drops 50lbs. He sneezes, he drops 15lbs. You get the idea. I started to see results after first week. Two weeks in and he's looking great! Can not wait to see what a month brings! He gets 2 scoops, twice a day and I have half a bag still so this will last about a month. GREAT PRODUCT...THE SEARCH IS OVER FOR A WEIGHT GAINING SUPPLEMENT THAT ACTUALLY WORKS!
Excellent Product
trying to put weight on senior
It works and my 24 year old OTTB loves it!
This has helped my older horse put on weight after an illness and keep his weight on now that he is older.
