Yes, 2 batteries work. I love my portable corral. I can set it up and tear it down in no time! My horse is electric fence trained, so he is very respectful of the Powerfield's fence.
Michele DIt is fully adjustable - you screw the tape holders to tighten them on at the height you want. Honestly I can’t recommend this product highly enough, we were so happy with it - only issue was that over time the tape holders snapped, but we were putting it up and down daily
Hannah KI have never needed to get replacement parts, although I did get extra stakes and connecting handles from a local farm supplier. The charger requires batteries, I do not use rechargeables, so I keep an extra set in the bag. I also remove the batteries after each use and put them in a zip lock bag, just in case they go bad, I do not want them to ruin the charger. Powerfields setup has been so easy to use, I highly endorse it!
Michele DYou will need to be able to drive in stakes and have them hold. The fence comes with skinny metal stakes that work most of the time, but you may want something more substantial for soft soil. And I use trees for posts whenever possible.
Jennifer KVery easy – it's just a single tape, the end of which becomes the 'gate' – hook it closed and complete the circuit by clipping it to the battery. To open, unclip the battery, then unhook the gate section to create an opening.
If your horses are calm, you can do it all without letting go of the leadrope - if they are a bit frightened by the tape, you can unhook, throw the open 'gate' onto the ground, let them go, then go back and pick it up to close it. Takes a few seconds.
Two "C" batteries lasted all summer. I string one line and just keep moving the hotline around. Helps if your horse has respect for the the hotline.
Sandra RHow tall are the posts for this corral?
Powefields advises us that the 2-piece treaded posts are 48" total length.
Maria B.It's probably about 3 1/2 feet. We kept our two quarter horse mares in over the weekend and they did fine. It's easy to set up, compact and pretty light. So it works really well. We have rocky ground so it can be hard to get the poles in. But even with that, it worked well cause the horses respect it and the size is adjustable.

As we were moving the fences every day, and often in cold conditions, I suppose it might have been overuse, but I'd like to replace them. I can't get a response from the company, which is why I've downgraded my rating to four stars instead of five.
Otherwise we were delighted with the fence and recommended it to everyone who's asked.
