This product is amazing. I had a horse that had a runny nose - one side only that would not clear up after a summer cold. He was put on exceed and checked for a blockage in his tear duct. Then I was told to put him on SMZ's. The drainage continued so I had him x-rayed and scoped. One vet told me a bad tooth was the cause and to have it removed. The equine dentist who he recommended told me not to have any tooth removed at that point as it wasn't absolutely clear what was causing the drainage. The horse, a 4 year old didn't respond to SMZ, but did well with a combination of dex & penn G. Once off though the drainage returned and for obvious reasons I didn't want to continue the dex. We tried another round of exceed which failed to clear up the problem. It was recommended that the next step would be to scope his sinus cavities which would have involved drilling half inch holes in his skull. I decided against any further treatment because there were no other symptoms ie foul smelling drainage, off feed, head tossing, refusing the bit etc. I was at my local feed store explaining what I had tried doing for this horse consulting 3 different vets and she recommended "Cough Free". Within 10 days of being on the product, the runny nose had completely cleared. I wish for both my horse's sake and mine that someone had suggested the product from the beginning!

My horse, who is typically not picky, would not eat this when I added it to his grain. It smells very strong of herbs and I guess he didn't like that. I tried to return it, but Horse.com does not take back consumables. However, they did give me gift certificates instead, which was nice.

I've been using this product for some time now for my mare. It doesn't immediately work, but after a couple weeks her cough will be gone, but in 1-3 months it always comes back.
I haven't had any problems with my horses eating this supplement.

My horse was having trouble breathing, and had very flared out nostrils. She was very congested. So I looked around on the internet for something that can help with that, and I found this. This works AMAZINGLY. I started giving it to her everyday, twice a day for a week, and she was much better. She started breathing better, and her nose was very runny. Which was a good sign, because her congestion was getting relieved. Now I've just been giving it to her once a day, every day. The only thing bad, is that when I first got it,and opened it, It smelled terrible. My horse didn't like it at first, but after a while she got used to it. Just mix it in with your horses grain. But i recommend this. If you have a horse that is badly congested, then get this. It works.

My horse have few supplements, she will keep on picking them out and leaving cough free out! I tried to wet the grain and mix it out but she still wastes the grain. But it works great before she starting to rejecting it.

I have been using Cough Free for 6 month. My horse has heaves and this is very helpful. I notice some of you say the horse refuses - due to taste/smell. I use Omolean (a sweet feed) to mix. Just a handfull, mix a little water, and scoop of Cough Free every day. He LICKS THE PAN DRY!! my only reason for the water, when he put his nose in to eat - and breathes out - the stuff blows right up in his nose!! Then he sneezes and it goes everywhere. Wastes the product, and frustrates him.

I had been using Anihist for over a month, it controlled the cough, but not eliminated it. I ran out and tried Cough Free. Wow!! 1 dose with remarkable improvement! 4 doses and no more cough! But, my mare hated the flavor too, but I added 5 or 6 licorice flavored horse treats to her soaking beet pulp and stirred her grain, the Cough Free and the beet pulp mix all together. She vacuums it up!!

We have a quarter horse that suffers from sweet itch in the summer, cough in the winter. We thought her cough was from smoking the alfalfa in her hay, so we got hay this year with no alfalfa but when the cough persisted we tried this product. It smells like charcoal and the horse hates it. We got her to reluctantly eat it in sweetfeed with a little corn oil, but it has not helped her cough. We will try something else with her; I hate to torture her if it is not going to help.

My horse is pretty finicky and curled his nose up at this stuff and did not eat his feed with it in it until I mixed it with cornmeal. Don't know if it helps the cough because he's still getting the Annihist.

I got this for a horse that was suffering HORRIBLE hives from insect bites this year. After researching online I kept hearing of people that have used on their horse for hives so I thought I'd give it a try. It worked wonders! I was so happy as I prefer to use natural products. Love this stuff and will make sure I always have it in the barn!

Cough Free works great, and fast, and even my picky eater eats it! I ride barrel horses and we travel a lot. They're always catching little coughs from here or there. It stops coughs in less than 3 doses. I always have it on hand...

I have an off the track Arabian and he gets a cough EVERY spring or if he has been trailered alot. This is the BEST product out there for the money. I have to mix it in grain and add water but, then he eats it. IF your horse coughs You NEED this product. IT WILL WORK!

I don't usually do reviews, but I love this stuff so much just had to. I had a friend whose horse got to coughing and after $280 at the vet, it was ok. I have older horses that are outside and on hay year round. I had a horse that had been coughing for a couple of weeks. Order this, used it, and in one week cough gone. I keep it on hand all the time. The minute they start coughing I start with this and cough is gone in 2 or 3 days. Wouldn't be without it!!

Cough Free helped stop my horse coughing with the first few doses. He won't eat it in his food, so I syringe it into him mouth. His cough is from allergies and stress. It is amazing!

Ever brought your horses in at night to find one of them covered with bug bites and or hives- despite using bug spray? This is excellent for this! I have foung 1-2 days of using this and they are GONE. Seems to work on them like benadryl on us-no drowsiness though. They love the taste, just mix in with grain-picky eater even will eat.

I've owned my mustang for a year now and I'm used to having coughing when a new horse is building endurance. But a year later, he was still coughing in the beginning of exercise and sometimes in his stall. I knew of Cough Free but wondered if it really worked. My mustang is VERY picky and doesn't even like treats, he wouldn't take Cough Free supplement with standard A&M but I found mixing the supplement with sweetfeed, he never rejected it! After one week, his coughing is gone! Its been two months now and not a sound from him! Amazing but true, Cough Free makes em Cough FREE!

Our 19 year old gelding and our 4 year old gelding were diagnosed with heaves. We did some research and tried this product. It really does work. They aren't too happy with the taste, but they do eat it. I also give it to my 9 year old gelding who coughs occasionally. He stops coughing while on this product. I recommend trying this on your horse!By the way, try looking up allergy shots for your horse as well. It is a little-known treatment, but it seems to be working for us.

My back the 10 year old Gelding got diagnosed with Hives, even know he is mostly out side. The Med from the Vet was costing $80.00+ a month and was not helping all that great. My Horse is on this supplement for almost 3 years now, even the Vet told me hes doing way better then expected. he hardly ever coughs and if I stop the supplement I can tell the differents in his breathing withing 3 days. He dint like to eat it in the first couple of days but now hes so use to it he doesent know the differents. My other 2 Horses only get cough free if the catch a cold. It usually starts working within the first day and I keep them on it for c. 7 days. by the the Cold is normally done. I love this product , it saved my Horses life. Thanks, Lynda

I love that this product is natural as I try to avoid giving or using chemicals as much as possible. The best thing is Cough Free works just like it says it does.
One of my mares came back from breeding with a cough and depressed. After it wasn't getting any better I started her on some Cough Free I had from another instance with another horse. (It worked great for him too) Within a week my mare's cough was practically non-existent and the following week was gone altogether and she was back to her sassy self.
I highly recommend this product

This stuff works pretty quick. I had a foal and mare come in from an outofstate barn with flu. Within 5 days there was noticable improvement and comfort for both. Neither cared for the tastesmell so you definitely have to mix it well with grain or other supplenments to get them to eat it. It can be mixed with ater and administyered orally but I found that to be a hassle. Its easier to disguise the flavor. Definitely worked on my horses.
