Generic 1-Year Deworming Kit
Includes the following dewormers: (3) Generic Pyrantel, (3) Generic Ivermectin
Pyrantel Pamoate Paste (generic): For maximum control of parasitism, it is recommended that foals (2–8 months of age) be dosed every four weeks. To minimize the potential source of infection that the mare may pose to the foal, the mare should be treated one month prior to anticipated foaling date, followed by re-treatment 10 days to two weeks after birth of foal. Horses and ponies over eight months of age should be routinely dosed every six weeks.
It is recommended that severely debilitated animals not be treated with this preparation.
Administration:
After removing the cap, the paste should be deposited on the dorsum of the tongue. Introduce the nozzle end of the syringe at the corner of the mouth. Direct the syringe backwards and depress the plunger to deposit the paste onto the tongue. Given in this manner, it is unlikely that rejection of the paste will occur. Raising the horse’s head sometimes assists in the swallowing process. When only part of the paste has been used, replace the cap on the syringe nozzle.
Indications:
For the removal and control of mature infections of large strongyles (Strongylus vulgaris, S. edentatus, S. equinus); small strongyles; pinworms (Oxyuris equi); and large roundworms (Parascaris equorum) in horses and ponies. Consult your veterinarian for assistance in the diagnosis, treatment and control of parasitism.
Dosage and Treatment:
Pyrantel Paste is to be administered in a single oral dose of 3mg pyrantel base per pound of body weight. The syringe has four weight mark increments. Each weight mark indicates the recommended dose for 300 pounds of body weight.
Body Weight Range:
Up to 300 lb. = ¼ syringe
301 – 600 lb. = ½ syringe
601 – 900 lb. = ¾ syringe
901 – 1200 lb.+ = 1 full syringe

Generic Ivermectin Paste 1.87%: Removes worms and bots with a single dose.
Indications:
Consult your veterinarian for assistance in the diagnosis, treatment, and the control of parasitism. Provides effective treatment and control of the following parasites in horses: small strongyles, large strongyles, pinworms, ascarids, hairworms, large-mouth stomach worms, bots, lungworms, summer sores, and intestinal threadworms.
Dosage:
This syringe contains sufficient paste to treat one 1,250 lb. horse at the recommended dose rate of 91 mcg ivermectin per lb. (200 mcg/kg) body weight.
Parasite Control Program:
All horses should be included in a regular parasite control program with particular attention being paid to mares, foals, and yearlings. Foals should be treated initially at 6 to 8 weeks of age, and routine treatment repeated as appropriate. Consult your veterinarian for a control program to meet your specific needs. Paste effectively controls gastrointestinal nematodes and bots of horses. Regular treatment will reduce the changes of verminous arteritis caused by Strongylus vulgaris.
Broad Spectrum Control: Kills important internal parasites, including bots and the arterial stages of S. vulgaris, with a single dose. Is a potent antiparasitic agent that is neither a benzimidazole nor an organophosphate.
Animal Safety: May be used in horses of all ages, including mares at any stage of pregnancy. Stallions may be treated without adversely affecting their fertility.
Information for Horse Owners:
Swelling and itching reactions after treatment have occurred in horses carrying heavy infections of neck threadworm microfilariae (Onchocerca sp.). These reactions were most likely the result of microfilariae dying in large numbers. Symptomatic treatment may be advisable. Consult your veterinarian should any such reactions occur. Healing of summer sores involving extensive tissue changes may require other appropriate therapy in conjunction with treatment with ivermectin wormer. Reinfection and measures of its prevention should also be considered. Consult your veterinarian if the condition does not improve.
