How to Measure for a Harness

While each miniature and pony is different, in general our sizing is:
Miniature: 38" and under
Mini A: 34" and under
Mini B: 34" - 38"
Shetland: 38" - 46"
The 38" - 39" range is the approximate break point for the two sizes, depending upon the shape of the horse. Please give us measurements on small minis (under 32"), as some of those harnesses have to be specially made, and also on the bigger "tweenies."
If you are unsure about sizing, please call us or put the following measurements in the text note box at checkout:
- Height at withers
- Center of chest to center of tail
- Girth
- Bridle (corner of mouth over poll to the opposite corner of mouth)
- Poll to withers
- Withers to dock of tail
If you don’t have all the above measurements, please provide any information you have. We do stock our harnesses, but if you provide this information we can double-check your sizing.
