ASPC/AMHR presents a video for beginners and new owners of Miniature Horses and Shetland Ponies. They show many basic techniques including: how to catch a horse in a small pen, how to fit a barn halter, and how to lead one correctly. They go on to discussing preparing for showing your mini and/or pony and cover the following subjects: practicing at home, how to set up for a halter class, clipping, bathing, braiding the tail, trimming their feet, proper attire, grooming, and fitting show halters correctly. Details are given on what the judges are looking for in the different classes. Showmanship criteria is also discussed. This video is an excellent tool for people just beginning to show.
